Netflix made Michelle Obama’s book, “Becoming” into a documentary, sets release date!

The documentary is titled “Becoming”, same as the title of her best selling book of 2018. The streaming of this documentary as expected is exclusive to Netflix, and it’s set to hit the Netflix screens on the 6th of May. You may want to subscribe to your Netflix account once again.

As reported by the Hollywood Reporter, the documentary is set to cover stories about the life of Obama (those featured in the book). the documentary will also give an in-depth look into the behind the scenes experiences of her 34-cities book tour.

According to Obama, “those months I spent traveling – meeting and connecting with people in cities across the Globe – drove home the idea that what we share in common is deep and real and can’t be messed with. In groups, large and small, young and old, unique and united, we came together and shared stories, filling those spaces with our joys, worries, and dreams. We processed the past and imagined a better future. In talking about the idea of ‘becoming’, many of us dared to say our hopes out loud.”

That’s a typical Obama speech (how I miss that man as President).

Anyways, this documentary is coming post-signing of a multiyear deal between the Obamas and Netflix, through their production company, Higher Ground Productions. Not to forget that the couple also signed a deal with Spotify, which leads to the production of exclusive podcasts for the platform.
