Kevin Hart withdraws from being the host of Oscars Award

Kevin Hart is pulling out of the Oscars.

Kevin Hart has stepped down from being the host of the Oscars Award, saying that he does not want to hurt people.
In his Tweet timed at 6am, Nigerian Time, the comedian claims that he doesn’t want to be a distraction to people on that night, and that he was sorry for all his “Insensitive words from my past”.
“I’m sorry that i hurt people….. and i hop that I and the academy can meet again”

I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscar’s….this is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists. I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past.

I’m sorry that I hurt people.. I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart. Much love & appreciation to the Academy. I hope we can meet again.

What caused the step down on the part of the comedian is the fact that, after he was announced as the host for the show on Wednesday, concern were raised about his homophobic tweets, that are now deleted.

After seeing this @benfraserlee tweet, I did a search for every time Kevin Hart tweeted “fag,” “homo,” or “gay.” It was…a lot. And he seems to have basically stopped tweeting those words after 2011 — i.e. the year his first stand-up movie became a hit. https://t.co/P8nTOilFgx pic.twitter.com/6uzPhnvt4F

Then Hart made a “non-apology” on Instagram, and told people to “stop looking for reasons to be negative’. In another Instagram post, he revealed that he received a call from the Academy of Motion Pictures Art and Sciences (Oscars organizers) where he was threatened to either delete his tweets or he would be dropped as being the host of the award night.
Hart said he had “addressed” the homophobic tweets and that he wouldn’t give an apology, but, he is a public figure, and the apology later came on Twitter.
