On 27th of July 2017, there were all cheers at the red half of Manchester upon the news that Manchester united had finally snapped up their dream striker after a lengthy bid from Everton strucking a bitter blow to Chelsea FC.
Lukaku didn’t disappoint either starting off fantastically with seven goals in his first seven premier league games, his form had dropped dramatically since then enduring one goal in 11 appearances. One of the factor being his style of play, united recently are set out in a counterattacking move in such a way that allows opposition to have possession with intention to break quickly, well this doesn’t suit lukaku because he is not adept at playing with his back to goal which means counterattacking opportunities breakdown due to failure to bring his teammates into play.
Lack of confidence is also contributing to his poor form, he tries his best, gives 100% commitment but most times he looks frustrated even when presented with clear-cut chances leaving the impression of someone struggling for goals. While Lukaku is still young and agile, he needs to improve and adapt fast if he is to be a success in Manchester united in the long-term.
